Description
Generally considered to be Bowlby's main partner in developing attachment theory and research, Mary Ainsworth was Senior Research Psychologist, Tavistock Clinic 1950-1954, working in Bowlby's research team (see Section D.3 above), and then held various academic and research posts in Uganda and the USA, her empirical research lending support to Bowlby's theoretical formulations.
