Description

Diary, 1855-1856. Chapter 3, p.24 includes a description of the Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole.

The following items were originally enclosed at the front and back of the volume, but have been removed and stored separately:

Notice of awards to the Botanical Class, University of Edinburgh, summer session 1849, which includes a certificate of merit to William Menzies Calder; and summer session 1850, which includes a gold medal to him for an Edinburgh herbarium.
