Description

Molecular model from X-ray diffraction data (PDB ID: 2dhb) of haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is a protein found in red blood cells which binds to and carries oxygen and carbon dioxide. The protein consists of 4 subunits, each with an iron atom bound to a haem group. Width of image is approximately 6.5 nm.
