About this work

Description

Common-place book, notes of sermons, expenses, etc., with a few medical receipts: mainly in Latin. At the end, among the unpaginated leaves, are notes 'February 2nd 1621 A note of my estate in moneyes at London': below this 'A note of my estate in money left at North Waltham when I went to London on Thursday being the 27th of February 1622'. Further among these leaves is a copy of John Donne's 'Last will and testament. This is printed in Grosart's edition of Donne's poems, as 'Loves legacie'. On the verso of the second preliminary leaf is a note 'Thomas Moulton was Buride in the Paston Church the 24th day of September 1602'. The medical receipts towards the end are in English, as also are a few original [?] verses.

John Moulton of North Waltham, Hants was Vicar of the Church of St. Bartholomew the Less (Venn: 'Alumni Cantabrigienses').
