About this work

Description

Notebook containing pharmaceutical definitions and recipes, possibly compiled by an apprentice apothecary-surgeon. The definitions (ff. 1-12, 16v.-27v.) are arranged like a catechism, in questions and answers this section is interrupted by "Remarques de chirurgie sur l'osteologie en vers", a long poem on the skeleton. The recipes, in French and Latin, follow from f. 29.

68 ff. original pagination [1]-161 and unnumbered. 1 volume, approx. 145 x 115 mm., Some water damage to the earlier leaves. Bound in a parchment fragment from a medieval chant book, much decayed.
