Biographical note

Robert Haldane Paterson (1803/4-1872) trained in Edinburgh, passing L.M.Edin. in 1822 and L.R.C.S.Edin. in 1823; he also passed as L.S.A. in 1834. At the time of this document he had been a general practitioner in Brigg for many years (holding local positions such as the District Medical Officer for the Brigg Poor Law Union) and was nearing the end of his career. He died on March 22 1872, aged 68. James Titley (1840/1-1886) was near the start of his career at the time of this document; in 1862 he had passed L.M.Edin., L.R.C.S.Edin. and M.D. (St. Andrews). He also made his career in Brigg but died early: he was 45 when he died on June 30 1886.
