A guide to the lottery, cards, dice, draughts, &c. &c. applied to The Solution of several curious Questions and Circumstances which occur in Play: laid down in the plainest Manner: and calculated to prevent the Practice of such Frauds as are frequently resorted to by professed Gamblers. Likewise The whole Business of insuring Tickets in the State Lottery clearly explained, the several Advantages taken by the Office-Keepers pointed out, and an easy Method given, whereby any Person may compute the Probability of his Success upon purchasing or insuring any particular Number of Tickets, with a Table of the Price of Insurance for every Day's drawing in the ensuing Lottery, another Table, containing the Number of Tickets a Person ought to purchase to make it an equal Chance to have any particular Prize; with several other curious Tables. To which is added a companion for the draught-player, containing Thirty select Games of Draughts, shewing the Manner of moving the Pieces to the best Advantage; together with several critical Situations to win Games, and fine Strokes, never before published: being the Result of the Practice and Observations of some of the first Players.
