Description

Alexander Monro primus (1697-1767), lectures on osteology, taken by William Elliott, Edinburgh, c.1757. Elliott's notes run from pp 1-94, and 163-378, with a note on the back flyleaf of some errata. Pp 95-156 have an extended essay on Rickets, in a different hand, followed by pp 157-160 Prescriptions, ppp 161-162 "Index copiosa praecedenti morbo".

Elliott's thesis, "Tentamen medicale inaugurale, de medicamentis stimulantibus in genere", was published at Edinburgh in 1760. He is probably the William Elliott of Edinburgh and Jedburgh listed in .J. and R.V. Wallis Eighteenth century medics: subscriptions, licenses, apprenticeships
