Description

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Photo postcard of the British actor Colin Clive (1900-1937). Clive created the role of Dr. Frankenstein in the film 'The bride of Frankenstein'. He was married to the French actress Jeanne de Casalis, in what was widely rumoured to be a 'lavender marriage ' i.e. a marriage of convenience where both partners are gay or bisexual".
