Biographical note

In 1947 two students from the University of Glasgow assisted in the activities of the Department of Psychological Research at Crichton Royal Hospital and in 1948 an Advisory Committee was set up consisting of representatives from Crichton Royal Hospital and the University of Glasgow for the purpose of establishing links and facilitating research. This led to University of Glasgow students spending four weeks or more at Crichton Royal Hospital participating in the hospital's Department of Psychological Research current research programmes. Students from Edinburgh University also worked at Crichton Royal assisting in research as part of their studies. Students who spent time at Crichton Royal Hospital also attended courses of lectures and visited different wards and departments.
