Description

The receipts are very varied, and there are a few in French and Latin by several later hands. The earliest dated entry, found on fol. 29v, is 1728, and the latest 1777, on fol. 129. Ff. 57-60 consist of a printed anonymous 'Bericht wie der Brunnen zu gebrauchen', with MS. additions, and of small 8vo. format (17 x 91/2 cm.). 61-70 Recepte und Beweisungen zum einigen Liqueurs und Lekerbischen. 93-102 Albrant [or Albrecht], Meister. Arzney buchlein worinnen allerhand...Regeln verzeichnet so bey den Pferdt zu gebrauchen und ist solches von hertzog Albrecht von Sachsen [sic] ... 104-107 Eine oeconomische Nachricht von Pferden insonderheit deren Kranckheiten und dargegen gebrauchenden Mitteln. A fragment from an unidentified printed pamphlet.

1 volume 144 ff. 4to. 21 x 161/2 cm. Modern paper covers. Some margins and corners damaged. Ff. 75-92 have been cut out. A title-page is probably missing.

Ff. 93-102 contain receipts from the 'Rossarzneibuch' of Meister Albrant Farrier and 'Veterinarius' to the Emperor Frederic II [1194-1250]. His name is given as Meister Albrecht in later MSS. [Cf. Eis (G.). Meister Albrants Rossarzneibuch. Konstanz (Baden). 1960.]
