Description

Includes two booklets containing summaries of various artificial limbs of the hand, foot and leg. Consists of drawings and technical specifications of various prosthetic limbs and reviews of the different models designed by various manufacturers. Also includes notes made by artificial limb manufacturers J E Hanger and J F Rowley on the "Tilting Table", a prosthetic leg which consists of the pelvis socket, thigh piece, shin and foot.

Ownership note

The material was found amongst the library stock from the Medical Devices Agency during the merge with the Medicines Control Agency which was created in 1989. The two agencies merged to become the Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in 2003.

One of the booklets is stamped "Ministry of Pensions".
