Description
Jesus turns towards Balthazar, the African, who holds a bottle of myrrh (which can have the symbolic function of an embalming fluid). Melchior, the oldest king, has his hands on the ground and has doffed his crown. The youngest, Caspar, retains his crown and stands next to a youth. A man in the bottom left-hand corner makes to open a bulging bag. The stable is sheltered by a ruined arch
