About this work

Description

Photocopies of exchanges of letters and cables between Heatley and H W Florey recording the collaboration of their research on penicillin and investigations into its possible large scale production, in the early 1940s. Includes accounts of interviews and discussions, progress reports on research, and some personal news.

Many of the copies are feint and difficult to read.

According to Heatley's notes in the files, the originals of some or all of the copies are held in the archives of the Royal Society.

The copies were probably made around the late 1970s or early 1980s.
