About this work

Description

The film shows the use and manipulation of stiff and disabled joints. A medical illustration with captions comprises of a hand drawn image of a limb joint clearly pinned to a notice board. A patient with tuberculosis knee is shown unable to flex their leg fully; an x-ray reveals the damage to the bones. A patient is anaesthetised and has their limbs manipulated and also a Faradic charge applied. All patients are unrecognisable except for one woman who is briefly shown with her arm being flexed above her head.
