Notes

Gloria Claye-Berneville lives in Rye but is originally from Yorkshire. She is a novelist, and used to be in the civil service. On the plinth she will be promoting Water Aid as she is passionate about the importance of toilets and fresh water in every country. Her husband was a master mariner that meant that she was able to travel the world with him.
