Description

De viribus herbarum. The text is written transversely to the page, and in an English middle sixteenth century Secretary hand. Fol. 1 De artemisia/Herbarum quasdam dicturus carmine vires/... 63v Unge caput dolens mire frontemque iuvabit. There should be 21 more lines according to the version in the Aldine 'Medici antiqui omnes', Venice 1548, though the text of this MS. differs slightly from that of the printed edition.

Physical description

1 volume 59 ll. 8vo. 15 1/2 x 10 cm. Unbound. Ff. 1, 14, 15, 30, and all after fol. 63 are wanting. Fol. 63 is badly damaged, and roughly repaired. Many leaves are frayed in the margins and some are stained. A small piece has been cut out from fol. 17. Ff. 29v to 32v are blank, hence the text from Cap. 29, line 5 (Corinader) to Cap. 32, line 17 (Papaver) is wanting.
