Reports on cases in the Alice Memorial Hospital, Hong Kong: partly by Thomson, and partly by [Sir] James Cantlie. With included A.l.s. from Thomson to Cantlie. Author's holograph MS. Hong Kong The letter (3 pp.) is dated 13/1/1891 and asks Cantlie for a few reports on cases. The main Reports on cases contain some temperature charts.

Biographical note

The author qualified M.D. at Edinburgh in 1892 and had been to Hong Kong to take charge of the Alice Memorial Hospital in 1868. He lectured at the Hong Kong Medical College where Sun Yat Sen was among his pupils. He was in the Hong Kong Medical Service from 1897-1909 when he retired owing to ill health. He was later Tuberculosis Officer fror Dumfries, and for the Borough of Fulham (cf. B.M.J., 1944, i, p. 133).
