TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, George Scott, of Knightsbridge, in the County of Middlesex, Gentleman, sent greeting. WHEREAS His most Excell1 Majesty King George the Third, by His Letters 5 Patent under the Great Seal of Great Britain, {bearing date the Sixteenth day of February, in the ninth year of His reign, did give and grant unto me, the said George Scott, his especial licence, that I, the said George Scott, during the term of years therein expressed, should and lawfully might use, exercise, and vend, within England, Wales, and Town of Berwick- 10 upon-Tweed, and within all His Majesty’s Colonies and Plantations abroad, my Invention of “ A Boiler, Pot, or TJtensil, to be made of any kind of Metal, for the more Convenient Dressing of Ships’ Provisions with Sea Water, or any kind of Water ; for making Sea Water Fresh ; for Purifying AND MAKING SWEET ANY KIND OF WATER ; AND FOR THE MORE EXPEDITIOUS METHOD > of Boiling any kind of Fish, Flesh, or Provisions of any Sort, and Extract¬ ing Broths or Soups in which said Letters Patent there is contained a pro- visoe, obliging me, the said George Scott, under my hand and seal, to cause a particular description of the nature of my said Invention, and how the same is to be performed, to be enrolled in His Majesty’s High Court of Chancery 20 within four calendar months after the date of the said recited Letters Patent, as in and by the same (relation being thereunto had) may more fully and at large appear.
