Notes

Anouk Gouvras is half Greek and half English but grew up in Luxemburg and came to Britain to study. Her first degree was marine zoology and she then moved to Liverpool to study parasitology. At present she is doing a PhD on a parasite called schistosomiasis (which infects the liver and bladder in people in Africa, Asia and South America). She is wearing a 7mm dry/wet suit with hood and a little snout with whiskers and is going to represent a seal. On the plinth she wants to raise awareness of overfishing and pollution. The Marine Conservation Society has sent through some props, papier-mâché fish, and seaweed.
