    Specification. Brook’s Improved Medicinal Compound. White sugar candy (powdered) Rectified spirits of wine Usquebaugh - Pure Turkey rhubarb - Red currant wine Eight ounces. Two pints. One pint. Half drachm. Eiye pints. Elavoured according to taste. The seeds may be either bruised or ground. The other ingredients are macerated in the spirits of wine and usquebaugh for about four days, and subjected to gentle heat; after which the currant wine is added, the heat discontinued, and the mass agitated four or five times a day for 10 about nine days; it is then filtered and flavoured, if necessary, and is fit for use.
