An illlustration to a Greek tale "Demaphoon and Phyllis". Phyllis waited on the beach for the return of Demaphoon for nine years. She dropped down dead and an almond tree sprang up in the place bearing her spirit in its boughs. When Demaphoon returned the tree blossomed as a token of Phyllis' forgiveness. P. Bentall Fairdene E.
