About this work

Description

Lepromatous leprosy (LL): histoid leprosy This is a low power view of a whole mount section of a histoid leprosy lesion. It shows a discrete, tumour-like nodule in the dermis. H&E stain. Histoid leprosy is often a manifestation of relapse, following cessation of treatment or resistance to dapsone. With current combination therapy, secondary drug resistance is unlikely to occur.
