Description

A dramatised story, highlighting the critical importance of animal research in medical progress through the eyes of three families whose children have all had experience of life-changing medical treatments. As well as accounts from the parents and families of the children featured, those involved in their care give their opinions on animal research. Judson Randolph, a surgeon at The Children's National Medical Center, Washington D.C., describes how animal research has enabled him to save lives in theatre. Cancer specialist, Gregory Reaman, talks about the role of animal research in treatments for leukaemia; Ralph Quinones discusses how research into bone marrow transplantations was carried out in animals.
