Papers and photographs related to the journal Transactions of the Hunterian Society and allied publications,
Photos, letters and papers regarding the catalogue of Hunterian Society material compiled in 1990 (Richard Palmer and Jean Taylor, The Hunterian Society. A Catalogue of its records and collection relating to John Hunter and the Hunterian tradition (Hunterian Society, 1990)),

Acquisition note

Deposited with the library at Wellcome Collection's Department of Western Manuscripts (now part of the unified Archives and Manuscripts department) by Dr Findlay, November 1996 (Library accession no.350391). The collection was retrospectively boxlisted in February 2022.

Biographical note

David White Findlay, Fellow and past President of the Hunterian Society, trained at the University of London, passing B.Sc. (Physiol.) in 1953 and MB BS (Middlesex) in 1956.

He also became MRCGP in 1965 and DObs RCOG in 1966.

In the course of his career he held the positions of:
Senior House Officer (Obstetrics), New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton
House Surgeon, ENT, Middlesex Hospital, London
House Physician, Bedford Hospital Group
Medical Officer, Occupational Health Department, St. Albans City Hospital

He was also a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine.
