Aleks Krotoski talks about the concept of abandonment, and explores why it is hard to leave a place. She speaks to author, Marie Mutsuki Mockett about her experience of communicating with her family in Japan during the earthquake and Tsunami of 2011. About 25 miles from where her family lives in Tohoku, there was threat of a nuclear reactor going off, therefore evacuation orders were promptly sent.
