File of papers relating to methods of selection and classification of personnel for the US armed forces, rating scales, and testing aptitude for flying ability. Includes a typescript document entitled "Report of the Investigation of Physiological and Psychological Tests of Aptitude for Flying, made by Sub-Committee on Problems of Aviation of the Psychology Committee of the National Research Council, and by the Personnel Section of the Air Division of the Signal Corps in Cooperation with the Committee on Classification of Personnel in the Army" 5 July 1918 (Dr E L Thorndike was executive secretary of the NRC Sub-Committee and member of the Committee on Classification of Personnel charged with cooperation with the Air Division of the Signal Corps). Also contains typed statistics of median scores of individuals in psychology examination according to occupation.
