Biographical note
The author describes himself, below the title, as 'Chirurgien des Hôpitaux Militaires, chargé du Service de la dite Colonie'. Cargèse was a town in the Ajaccio Province of Corsica, founded in 1676 by Maniote emigrants from Greece.
Ownership note
At the top of the first page is a library stamp in red, inscribed: 'Collection de P[ierre] Jul[ien] Fontaine'.
