About this work
Description
Signed autograph letter by Wallace (formerly held in the Western Manuscripts collection's Autograph Letters Sequence), written on board RMS Empress of Britain to his doctor, thanking him for a gargle and asking for details of a spray used for catarrhal conditions. From the ship's details it appears that the letter dates from 1931 when Wallace was on his way from Britain to the USA, where he was to die suddenly after completing the screenplay to King Kong.
