About this work
Description
Jesus points to the disciples who are deserting him because of the offensiveness of his doctrine of transubstantiation (John 6.50-66). In the text, he explains that his words are the real emanation and terminus of life, not the flesh, which is transient. Jesus challenges the apostles to leave with the others. Peter replies, "Master, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life"
