About this work

Description

The Finances series is composed of Watson’s personal and business financial records. The records include income tax returns, bank statements, property records, receipts, bills, insurance records, charitable contributions, cancelled checks, and other ephemera. The series includes financial records of Watson’s wife, Elizabeth L. Watson, and his two children, Rufus and Duncan. Records concerning the estate of his father, James D. Watson, Sr., are included. It does not include expenses reimbursed by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. These can be found in Institutional Records: Finances (JDW/3/7). Those records include travel expenses, charges to the corporate credit card, and other expenses related to his role at CSHL. The series is arranged chronologically.
