About this work

Description

Graham Easton searches for the facts behind the media scare stories about the dangers of vaccines. Immunisation has saved millions of lives. What are the chances of the vaccine itself causing illness? David Ellerman has made sure his children are fully vaccinated, and is worried about the increasing number of children not vaccinated, as this can put the community at risk of an outbreak of measles, whooping cough, etc. Steven Langley presents the other side, using a method of homeopathic vaccination for his children. Mike Watson emphasises the thorough research and safety testing done by drug companies. It is a matter of weighing up the risks. Julie Leask estimates that 10% of media reports are anti-vaccination - usually reports of an individual child. However parents were more worried when they saw film of a child with whooping cough.
