Description

Notes on the details of the operation, and of the last hours of Napoleon III. Author's holograph MS. The account is dated from 26 December, 1872 to 9 January, 1873, when the Emperor died at 10.45 a.m. after several operations of lithotrity performed by Sir Henry Thompson [1820-1904]: Clover was the anaesthetist, and administered chloroform. Produced in London.
