Heberden, William (1710-1801)

An introduction to the study of Physic. Transcript by William Younge [1762-1838] of Sheffield. Lettered on the spine 'Dr. Heberden. W.Y. 1786'. On the third fly-leaf is a note dated 5/12/1894 by W[illiam] C[ollett] Homersham, which begins: 'I am told by Mr. William Buller Heberden, Secretary (Excise) of the Board of Inland Revenue, that the writer of this MS. was his great grandfather....' On the first fly-leaf the initials 'W.Y.' These Lectures were given at the Royal College of Physicians, London. Produced in London.

William Younge was physician to the Sheffield General Infirmary for 41 years down to his death in 1838.
