About this work

Description

Watercolour drawing of the under surface of the liver, showing a new growth springing from the mucous membrane of the common bile duct. The gall bladder was distended with thin puriform fluid. Immediately below the junction of the cystic with hepatic ducts the common bile duct is blocked by an annular mass of soft whitish new growth. Microscopically, the growth was found to be an encephaloid carcinoma. The bile ducts were very greatly distended. Numerous calculi were found in the gall bladder.
