Grueling is described as practising in Stolberga Cheruscorum, i.e. Stadt Stolberg (Harz), in Saxony-Anhalt. He is described as 'medicus aulicus': his courtly duties were presumably at Schloss Stolberg with the Grafen zu Stolberg
