Description

The Right Honourable J.A. Roebuck, M.P. for Bath and Sheffield, founder of the Roebuck Committee, chairman of the Sebastopol Committee for inquiry into the conduct of the Crimean War. "Tear 'em" was his nickname, arising from his "propensity for outspoken personal, and hence frequently unproductive, attacks on his opponents" (Oxford dictionary of national biography)
