Stableman's monthly record card showing the names of the horses, etc..., and the record of the bleedings for January 1898 and incidentally records the death of the horse "Yerby". Created in the 1890s to produce diphtheria anti-toxin for Burroughs Wellcome and Co, the Wellcome Physiological Research Laboratories established themselves as a renowned research institution in the 1900s, following groundbreaking work on chemicals released from ergot of rye.
