Tree of Life digital promotional material

Digital promotional material for the Tree of Life video and interactive application, commissioned by the Wellcome Trust as part of Darwin 200. The video is narrated by Sir David Attenborough and explores the evolutionary links between species of life on Earth, living and extinct.

Comprises 3 video files:

- A demo movie for the Tree of Life interactive flash application.

- The full Tree of Life 6-minute video, uploaded to YouTube, the video-sharing website, in January 2009.

- Tree of Life trailer, a one-minute version of the Tree of Life video uploaded to YouTube in January 2009.

The Tree of Life video and interactive application were produced by Shadow Industries for the Wellcome Trust. The video was broadcast on BBC1 on 1 February 2009 as part of the "Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life" programme. The interactive app was created for the Wellcome Tree of Life website (www.wellcometreeoflife.org) and allowed users to explore species featured in the video in greater depth.

The video won the Judges' Choice Award in the Institutional Category of The Scientist Video Awards in 2009.
