Spleen: miliary tuberculosis

Miliary tuberculosis This is the cut surface of the spleen in a patient with miliary tuberculosis who was HIV-positive. Notice that the surface is studded with white lesions, of 1 - 5 mm diameter. These are necrotic miliary tuberculous granulomas.
