Biographical note
Project description:The project will produce a range of innovative interactive visual tools, which can be used by children and professionals to explore and understand similarities and differences between animals (vertebrates), particularly during early development, and how these have arisen through evolution. An artist working with biomedical scientists will create useful ways of representing the networks of interaction between genes and regulatory elements that govern the development of organisms, and offer important insights into human development and abnormalities. The aim is to communicate these relationships in exciting ways at different levels, from children's drawing games and a DVD for schools to spatial and diagrammatic models for students, scientists and the public.
