About this work

Description

"The Unexpected Guest is a play in two acts that was created in a playwriting class through the partnership of the National MS Society: Oregon Chapter and Well Arts, a nonprofit organization that explores, develops, and practices creativity as a means of wellness. The four authors learned playwriting to develop a production that would explore their personal experience with multiple sclerosis and turn their stories into educational outreach for those who are unfamiliar with the experience of MS. The play tells the story of receiving a diagnosis of MS, sharing with friends and family the diagnosis, and the day-to-day challenges of living with the diagnosis. Significantly, the play explores the emotional realm of debilitating illness and the reflection of society back on those living with these experiences."--Google Books, viewed on April 3, 2019
