Losing one of my giant legs.

Mandy Sellars has a rare condition which means that her legs and feet grow at an extraordinarily fast rate and they keep growing. Mandy was born with very large legs but managed to lead quite a normal childhood. However, as she's got older and her legs have continued to grow, she is finding it harder and harder to retain her mobility. At the age of thirty-five, Mandy had to have her leg amputated above the left knee as she had an infection that would otherwise kill her. Despite the amputation, the stump has continued to grow. This documentary follows Mandy after the surgery as she tries to regain her freedom and undergoes tests to see what effects the extreme weight of her legs is having on the rest of her body. What is perhaps most striking is Mandy's extremely positive frame of mind and struggle to maintain her independence.
