About this work

Description

The panorama at Cranbourne Street, north of Leicester Square, was the first public display of the idea by Robert Barker. His sons took over the business from him, but they eventually quarrelled. Henry Aston Barker kept the Cranbourne Street premises, Thomas Edward Barker began a rival panorama located in the Strand. In 1816 Henry Aston Barker published a print similar to the present one and also printed by J.
