Dr Jonathan Miller retraces the journey of Alfred C Hadden and his team of six Victorian gentlemen, who journeyed to Melanesia in 1989 on the first ever British anthropological expedition. Miller’s video diary of the Torres Strait examines the legacy of anthropology, and meets the descendants of the original islanders, the anthropologists who study them today, the islanders who now study anthropology. The first anthropological cine film was taken on this expedition.
