About this work

Description

First day of issue envelope and stamps commemorating the International Year of Disabled People. The stamps were issued on 25 March 1981 and all 4 have been stuck onto the first day cover. There is a 14p stamp showing a golden labrador guide dog leading a blind man, a series of 4 pairs of hands signing on the 18p one, a man rolling his wheelchair up a ramp on the 22p one and somebody painting a rainbow on a sheet of paper with their foot on the 25p stamp. Both the stamps and the cover were designed by John Gibbs.
