About this work

Description

Some years before Barbara Evans began her biography of Helena R Wright, Gerald Sanctuary began work for a never-completed joint biography of her and her sister Margaret Lowenfeld (child psychologist). He amassed a large number of tape-recorded interviews in connection with this. This file contains eight of the tapes (tapes 12, 13, 15, 16, 31, 32, 33 and 38), which comprise interviews with people who knew the sisters and Sanctuary's recordings of his dictations of the sister's papers.

Related paperwork is in PP/PRE/J.1/25.

Tape 32: Interview with Dr. Margaret Mead and Dr. Rhoda Metraux by Gerald Sanctuary on 17/18 January 1977. Mostly talking about Margaret Lowenfeld. Tape abstracts in PP/PRE/J.1/25.
