Circulation du sang. Le docteur Harvey fait des expériences au milieu de ses élèvrs. ... Lettering continues: "L théorie et les lois d'apres le quelles s'opére la circulation du sang étaient inconsures aux anciens Aristote voyait dans le coeur la source d'où part le sang, mais il ne l'y fesait plus retourner. Avan Aristote, on faisait venir le sang de la tête. Selon Galien les veines prenaient naissance dans le foie. Ces doctrines dominaient lorsque l'Espagnol Sarvet trouvale passage du sang dans le pumon. Césalpin médecin du pape Clément VIII qui précéda Harvey, devina presque la grande circulation dont les lois lui furent inconnues. La découverte en était réservée à Guillaume Harvey qui démontra publiquement à Londres, en 1619, que le sang porté par les artères par les veines, part du coeur pour y retouner."
