Notes

Patsy Smith has spent the last 5-6 weeks preparing for her slot which has included hiring the square, applying for event licenses, organising props and hiring professional sound and light system, all in order to make a bit of an event out of her hour. On the plinth she will be holding a Christmas party and this will include a Christmas tree, a snow machine, Christmas carols and people in Santa hats. She is raising awareness for Myeloma UK who are a cancer charity. Myeloma is cancer of the cells found in bone marrow, which she herself was diagnosed with 18 years ago. She discovered the charity then but this is the first thing she has done to raise awareness for them. Professionally, she runs her own marketing business and counselling business. She went back to study 5 years ago to begin counselling and thinks this will take priority for her in the future. Her family are here supporting her, including parents, children and her own grandchildren.
