About this work

Description

The organizers of this community-based net programme have invited everyone in the local community to this outside lecture. This local health worker is informing prospective bednet buyers about the net programme and the advantages of owning a net. The lecture will describe how sand flies are responsible for leishmaniasis and how people who sleep under treated nets are bitten by fewer sand flies, which reduces their risk of infection. Other benefits of treated nets include killing head lice, ticks and household pests such as bedbugs. See also images W0046175, W0046177, W0046179, W0046181 and W0046182.
